BULLDOGS fullback Brett Morris will reportedly miss the first month of the 2016 NRL season.

Channel Seven reported on Wednesday night that Morris is well behind schedule in his recovery following off-season knee surgery.

The NSW and Australia representative hasn’t been able to join the main NRL group for pre-season training.

Morris missed 10 games for the Bulldogs last season due to hamstring and knee problems.

Coach Des Hasler has a number of players who could fill the void in recruits Will Hopoate and Brad Abbey, as well as Tyrone Phillips who showed touches of class during the recent Auckland Nines tournament.
