THE Bulldogs have suffered a massive blow on the eve of the new season with star fullback Brett Morris ruled out for four months.

The 29-year-old was behind in his recovery from off-season knee surgery and it was originally feared he’d miss the first month of the season.

However, the club has confirmed Morris needed to go under the knife again.

“Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs fullback Brett Morris yesterday underwent an arthroscope but complications required that surgery be performed,” a statement said on Tuesday.

“The rehab process will take four months and he is expected to return later in 2016.”

Morris missed 10 games for the Bulldogs last season due to hamstring and knee problems.

Coach Des Hasler has a number of players who could fill the void in recruits Will Hopoate and Brad Abbey, as well as Tyrone Phillips who showed touches of class during the recent Auckland Nines tournament. Sam Perrett also has a wealth of experience in the No.1 jumper.
