The Sydney Roosters Board of Directors has confirmed that Mitchell Pearce has been suspended from the Club’s Leadership Group.

The Roosters Board also confirmed that Mitchell has lost the co-captaincy of the Club.

“After four weeks in an intensive rehabilitation facility, Mitchell’s well-being remains paramount,” said Roosters CEO, John Lee.

“On the basis of medical advice received by the Club, and subject to the satisfactory assessment of his continuing rehabilitation, Mitchell will resume training at the Club from Monday, March 7,” he added.

In regards to any proposed suspension, the Roosters Board has reserved its decision until such time that further information can be obtained in relation to similar incidents.

The Board also noted that following the January 26 incident, Mitchell is entering his second month without training or involvement with the Club. He was also unavailable for the NRL Auckland Nines; the Club’s training camp in Dubai; the World Club Series; and he will miss the Club’s opening fixture against Souths.
