Dragons name trial squad to face Warriors Written by STAFF WRITERS, February 15, 2016

THE Dragons have named a strong 26-man squad for Saturday’s pre-season trial against the Warriors in Nelson, New Zealand.

Josh Dugan has been included after being rested for the Charity Shield, while Gareth Widdop and Joel Thompson return from All Stars duties.

A host of new recruits will again be on show with the likes of Siliva Havili, Sebastine Ikahihifo, Russell Packer, Tim Lafai, Dunamis Lui and Kurt Mann all named.

The Red V will be looking to finish the pre-season on a positive note after disappointing Charity Shield and Auckland Nines campaigns.

“Pre-season has been a long and tough one going on fourteen weeks and the guys have really prepared well,” Dragons coach Paul McGregor told the club website.

“This will be a our last week away for the players to really enjoy each other’s company and bond together before we go into round one.

“This game will represent a very good hit-out for us and provide a good gauge at where we are before we close-off and start the season.”
