THE Broncos will bring showtime to Suncorp Stadium in their mission for premiership redemption with Wayne Bennett giving his forwards a licence to thrill.

The days of five hit-ups in the middle of the field followed by a bomb are dying.

While Brisbane’s structures will stay similar to last year’s, the team’s forwards have been encouraged to pass more often and be willing to take educated risks.

It is part of their plan to take advantage of their smaller pack and fewer interchanges in an NRL season expected to be significantly faster than 2015.

The Broncos wowed Wigan with a seven-try onslaught in their 42-12 victory in a World Club Series match early Sunday.

The Broncos scored several highlight-reel tries, including an 80m short side raid off a scrum, started and finished by Greg Eden.

Corey Parker said the pack had been given freedom to pass the ball and offload this season.

“Instead of using guys as battering rams to get a job done we are going to use some skill,” Parker said.

“We have plenty of forwards who can pass and use the ball, tip on et cetera and the outside backs speak for themselves. Where I play we will be trying to use our skill.

“We need to maximise each and every individual’s skills. There will be times when you have to tuck it under the wing, cop a hit and take a tough run.

“However, defensive lines these days are too good. You have to work out a way to break that down, whether that is a pass or whatever.

“We have a lot of skill and we need to use it.’’
