Morris tackles NRL Wellbeing

Centre Josh Morris today joined fellow teammates in the local community visiting schools and delivering key NRL messages.

Speaking from Condell Park Primary School, Morris praised the work done by the Club in the local community and how the messages of healthy living was being communicated to Primary School children.

"It’s good to get out in the community and go to different schools in the Bulldogs area," Morris said.

"It’s important to spread the message of wellbeing, because as a young kid you need to make sure your doing the right things in regards to your sleep and hydration.

"If we can pass on some of our knowledge to the young kids, hopefully it can make a difference."

The NRL squad spent Monday visiting 29 schools across the local community delivering the NRL’s wellbeing and Dream,Believe,Achieve messages.

Wellbeing Key Messages:

– Wellbeing is something that includes mental wellness, physical activity, nutrition and positive relationships. No one aspect of health is more important than another. They all contribute to a healthy person.

– Hydration is key to refuelling our body to help us feel at our best.

– Good quality, uninterrupted sleep of 11 hours for children gives our mind and body a rest so we are ready and fresh for the next day.

– We all need a place to belong and we are all responsible for helping others feel connected and included.

– Junior rugby league is a great place to belong.

Dream Believe Achieve Key Messages:

– dreams are what drives us, motivates us and give us purpose.

– Surround yourself with positive people.

Self-belief is like a muscle. The more you practise and train self-belief the stronger you will become.

– Resilience is essential as you work towards your dreams. There will be setbacks and hurdles, but you can overcome them.

Morris was also happy to discuus the performance from his teammates on the weekend and pin pointed the teams conscience effort to keep the Storm scoreless as the most pleasing aspect to come out of the win.

"I think keeping the Storm to zero was a massive positive.

"We spoke about our defence and we wanted to set the tone early and to not have a point scored against us really gives us confidence heading into round one."
