Norman: The game we needed

We caught up with Dyldam Parramatta Eels five-eighth Corey Norman after the fulltime siren after the Blue and Gold came away with a 20-16 win over the North Queensland Cowboys.

Reflecting on the match, Norman said the scrappy game and tough win was exactly what the Blue and Gold needed.

"It was tough and we have been saying all week it would go until the 80th minute and it did," Norman said.

"We got the win which was good but that last try at the end was a bit disappointing. We are just that much off where we need to be so we will look at that this week."

"I think that was the game we needed this early in the season. Both teams turned over the ball, but we just kept turning up and we need to keep building on that each week."

Norman was pleased with his performance alongside club debutant Kieran Foran, in just their second hit out playing in the halves together.

"I think we went really well considering that is our second hit out," Norman said of Foran.

"Things will take a bit more time, and we were still a bit rusty, but for our second hit out, I think it was really good."

And Norman was pleased to come away with a win infront of a vocal Blue and Gold Army."

"I saw there was 12 thousand here but it sounded like 20!" Norman said.

"It’s always like that with the Parra fans, and if they can keep doing that all year it will go a long way to helping us."
