The Bulldogs NYC side have had a convincing 40-12 victory over the Manly Sea-Eagles at Brookvale Oval this afternoon.

It was seven tries two with the young pups showing in both attack and defence that they will force to be reckoned with this season.

A penalty and territory brought about the Bulldogs first try with backrower Peter Tiatia swooping on a deflection after a grubber kick to score. Halfback Zac Greene converted from just to the right of the uprights to give the pups a 6-nil lead after 10 minutes of play.

The Sea-Eagles answered back immediately through prop forward Eddie Paealiki who crossed under the uprights. The home side received the ball after an error was forced, quickly turning defence into attack and scoring points. Hutana Coffin converted to level the score at 6-all.

The next period of play was all the Bulldogs with the next three tries being scored by the boys in blue and white. Winger Reimis Smith went over in the 14th minute before Lopeti Mafi barged over 10 minutes later. On the next attack the young pups orchestrated a try that Coach Anderson would be proud of with some great rugby league being played. It ended with D’Rhys Miller crossing which the side enjoyed. Greene converted two of the tries with the Bulldogs racing out to a 22-6 lead after 32 minutes.

The young pups wanted to score first in the second stanza to keep the momentum and a swift shift from left to right ended in the hands of Smith who just showed too much pace to go over and score in the north-east corner. Greene converted from out wide, with the scoreboard reading 28-6 after 48 minutes.

Seven minutes later the Sea-Eagles crossed for their second try of the night through Jon Bernard Kairouz. Coffin converted from just to the right of the uprights to close the gap to 28-12.

An error from Sea-Eagles winger Harry O’Toole off a bomb and Luis Strickland was there to pick up the loose ball and he ran the remaining 15m to score untouched. Greene again converted to extend the lead out to 34-12.

Minutes later the victory was confirmed when five-eighth Jade Anderson took on some tired defence, stepped off his right foot and slid right through to score under the posts. Greene slotted it over and the scoreboard now read 40-12.

That’s how the score stayed with the Bulldogs now looking towards a tough encounter against the Penrith Panthers.
