Young gun Valentine Holmes recently declared he will shun serious interest from rugby to continue his career in the NRL and Tagataese will do the same after recently holding preliminary talks with the Waratahs about a code switch.

Tagataese said his preference is to remain with Cronulla next season and hasn’t given up hope on signing a 12-month extension with the club despite rejecting their first offer earlier in the season.
