Find out a little more about Craig Garvey ahead of his club debut for the Bulldogs tonight.

Garvey replaces the injured Michael Lichaa (knee) who’s length of time on the sideline is still to be confirmed.

What do you like to do away from football?

Away from football I spend most of my time going to the beach or travelling.

What was your first job?

My first job was as a NRL development officer.

What are your goals in Rugby League?

My main goals in Rugby league would be to play regular first grade for the Bulldogs

What do you love about Rugby League?

The thing I love most about rugby league is training with your mates every day.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career?

My biggest influence would be my mother; she has always been there for me through thick and thin.

What is your earliest league memory?

My earliest memory in Rugby League is winning the under 12’s grand final by 1 point.

What is your best moment in league so far?

My best memory in rugby league would be my debut for the Dragons; it has made me hungry to secure a first grade spot at the Bulldogs.

Best piece of advice you have been given?

Worry about what you can control.

What advice would you give to a young rugby league player?

Never take the game for granted, it can be all over before you know it.

Who is the player you looked up to as a kid and why?

The player I most looked up to is Isaac Luke. He has always played above his weight and shows just how tough he is every game.

What are your memories of your first NRL game?

My first memories of playing NRL were the nerves of warming up in front of a big crowd and my first run with the ball. Unreal experience!

Favourite sportsman and why?

My favourite sportsman is Roy Jones Jnr. Or Mike Tyson, they both have a relentless desire for success.

What can’t you live without?

TV

What is the TV show you never miss?

The TV show I can’t miss would have to be Vikings.

What is on your bucket list?

Probably to visit America one day, that would be great.

If you could play another sport, what would it be?

I would love to be a professional NFL player.

If you weren’t playing league, what would you be doing?

If I wasn’t playing league I would be a personal trainer.

How would you like to be remembered at the end of your career?

I would love to be remembered as a tough and dedicated competitor.
