CANBERRA are counting the cost of a brutal round one clash with the Panthers with both halves facing lengthy stints on the sidelines.

The Raiders held on for a 30-22 victory at GIO Stadium but could be without star playmakers Blake Austin and Aidan Sezer after they suffered knee and eye injuries respectively.

“We lost Blake (Austin) and Aidan has a bad cheek too,” Stuart said post match.

“We will have to check him out. There is a chance he may have a broken cheekbone or eye socket but he had to stay on.

 

“That to me is better than him setting up three tries or scoring two tries him staying on. He couldn’t see out of his left eye.”

Sezer’s halves partner Austin carried on his stellar form from last season with a masterful display that ended with a second half knee injury and Stuart was unsure how much time his star number six¬† would miss.

“I don’t know the full extent but it is medial and not ACL. The full extent we will know over the course of the next 24 hours.”
