Round 2 Opposition Thoughts

Round 2 Opposition Thoughts

Each week in 2016 will take a look at the opposition and what the players think about coming up against the men in blue and white.

This Thursday the Bulldogs travel to the foot of the mountains where they face a Penrith Panthers side looking to get their first win of the season.

The home side will be looking to impress after last week’s defeat to the Raiders, while the Bulldogs will be looking for their first win at Penrith since 2012.

During the week some of their star players and Coach Anthony Griffin spoke about the round 2 clash.

Jamie Soward:

“We’ve got a chance this week to fix a few things up with the short turnaround and freshen the bodies up and get ready for what was a pretty impressive Canterbury side last week.”

Bryce Cartwright:

“They (Bulldogs forward pack) set the standard the other night and big David Klemmer is coming back too so they’re only going to get better. I think it will be a good challenge for us.”

Coach Anthony Griffin:

“It was a typical brutal Canterbury effort last week.”

“Their forwards in Graham and Kasiano lead the charge.”

“You’ve got to be ready for that relentless attack that they’ve got.”

“They’ve been building up for a lot of years to get a squad like they’ve got now and it’s all been designed around that forward power.”

“It’s not going to be any surprise as to what the game is going to be about tonight.”

The match kicks off at Pepper Stadium at 8.05pm, with gates set to open at 5.30pm and NYC scheduled for a 5.50pm start time.
