WELCOME to The Mole’s Monday Scoops! Here’s the highly accurate rodent’s best work this week . . .

BARRETT TO NAME BOLTER

Unfancied new signing Nathan Green is set to be the shock bolter in the revamped Manly squad to meet the Bulldogs in round one.

Incoming coach Trent Barrett is set to name a host of new faces tomorrow, with former Dragon centre Green the big surprise in the back row.

Green played just four games for the Dragons last season and his move to Manly barely created a headline.

He is not listed in Manly’s top 25 players but impressed the coaching staff with his attitude in the trials and is likely to win a spot.

He has beaten experienced forwards like Tom Symonds and Feleti Mateo for a place in the pack. New signings Marty Taupau, Dylan Walker and Nate Myles will also make the team.

Brett Stewart is given little chance of playing due to injury, with Tom Trbojevic to play at fullback.

Promising Rabbitohs forward Jack Gosiewski has signed a new two-year deal with the Bunnies.

A strong runner from Mullumbimby, 21-year-old Gosiewski has yet to make his NRL debut but played in the recent Charity Shield against the dragons and it wouldn’t surprise to see him break into the Rabbitohs’ squad in the coming weeks.

GIG UP FOR GRABS

Justin Morgan, who recently joined the Warriors as an assistant coach, is in the frame to take the Hull KR coaching gig.

Morgan was a previous coach at KR. The Super League side are in no rush to name a successor to Chris Chester, who was sacked last week. Kiwi Willie Poching is in temporary charge.

Steve McNamara has also been linked with the post – he has family in Hull – but he is only months into a new two year deal to stay with the Roosters.

SHEENS TO THE WARRIORS?

There’s a rumour flying around that former Test coach Tim Sheens is set to join the Warriors as football co-ordinator – a similar role to what Gus Gould has at Penrith.

But I checked with the man himself – currently coaching English club Salford – and he was quick to shoot it down.

“No truth to it at all,” Sheens explained.
