ON THE eve of the All Stars clash Cowboys utility Ray Thompson has suffered a major injury at training. 

The playmaker, who was due to wear the No.9 jersey in the annual clash, has reportedly gone down at the captain’s run clutching his lower leg.

Team-mates immediately surrounded Thompson who was in visible pain as coach Laurie Daley called for an ambulance.

An ambulance was not called as Thompson was carried off the ground.

At this stage the injury is believed to be an ankle injury but the extent of the injury is yet to be determined.
