Wests Tigers receive inspirational visitor

Wests Tigers received a special visitor at this morning’s training session with Senior Constable Luke Warburton speaking to the players ahead of their Round 2 clash with Manly-Warringah.

Senior Constable Warburton has been recovering in hospital recently after being shot in the upper leg while responding to an incident at Nepean Hospital in January this year.

Senior Constable Warburton was discharged from hospital on February 16, receiving a guard of honour by his colleagues on his release.

A massive Wests Tigers supporter, Senior Constable Warburton was invited to Leichhardt Oval this morning to watch his team train and was also presented with a 2016 jersey in front of the playing squad by captain Aaron Woods.

The former Leichhardt local spoke to the players and also Head Coach Jason Taylor on a range of topics – including his love for the Wests Tigers and some of the games that he has attended at Leichhardt Oval.

Wests Tigers will host Senior Constable Warburton at Monday night’s game against the Sea Eagles and the Club would like to thank him for sharing his inspirational story with some of the players today.
