A Members Perspective – Rd 2, 2016

From start to finish we dominated. From fullback to forward – everyone played their part and we managed to get the win over the Roosters! It was a delight to watch!

Not only did our experienced heads like Greg Inglis, Sam Burgess, John Sutton and Adam Reynolds put their best foot forward, our young guys did so as well.

McInnes slotted into dummy half seamlessly and kept the game at the kind of pace we’ve become accustomed to over the years. He found gaps and used them to our benefit, and if he smelt half a chance, he took advantage of it. What a try he scored as a result!

Kyle Turner – dynamite! He was scoring tries, stopping tries and setting them up with confidence.

I was interested to see how Hymel Hunt would go in the centres, and now, I’m even more interested thanks to his combination of strong defence and his knack for being in the right place at the right time. I look forward to seeing more of him.

And what about Paul Carter? He’s not the tallest player, but he did exceptionally well to pluck that Reynolds kick from the air to score!

Of course we also had a few injuries; Sutton, Reynolds and Musgrove. It’s certainly a shame because they were all in fine form, but as I spoke about last week – we’re blessed to have depth.

I was proud to see Cody Walker perform the way he did. He has shown drive and determination in his career so far and had the kind of ‘Til I Die’ attitude that South Sydney is all about. And with Luke Keary coming back into the fold this week, Cody will have another experienced head next to him. So rest up ‘Reyno’ and don’t you worry about a thing because we’re in safe hands! Just come back to us 100%.

So now it’s the Knights in our first home game on Saturday. Newcastle will be up for the challenge, and with the home-crowd erring on the side of the Red and Green, I can’t wait to get out there!

So come on out in force this Saturday Rabbitohs Members and supporters! Let’s celebrate our homecoming loud and proud!

Up the Mighty Rabbitohs!
