NRMA Insurance Broncos’ halfback Ben Hunt is expecting a tough challenge from the Warriors in Brisbane’s 2016 home opener on Friday.

The boys from New Zealand will be looking to bounce back after falling to the Wests Tigers last weekend, despite a gallant second-half fightback.

Two of the most dynamic playmakers in competition are set to go head-to-head under the Friday night-lights, with the victor to go a long way in deciding who wins the round two showdown.

Hunt is under no illusion as to how dangerous Warriors’ half Shaun Johnson is.

“He is the whole package,” said Hunt of Johnson.

“He is so unpredictable you really don’t know what he is going to do - he can kick, step and pass.

“I know they lost last week but I thought he was really good.”

Hunt believes the Broncos will have to be on their toes all night if they are to stop the dangerous Warriors’ attack spearheaded by Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.

“He was the best fullback in the competition last year,” said Hunt.

“You don’t know whether he is going to pass so he is just like Shaun Johnson.

“He has got good footwork and he can beat you anywhere.”

“If you have a few tired forwards around the ruck they are really going to hurt you.

“They have the players to take advantage like Isaac Luke, Tuivasa-Sheck at the back, and off course Johnson.

“It’s a big challenge up against the Warriors.

“Every time they come over here and play against us they are always up for a big game”

The 25-year-old Hunt and partner-in-crime Anthony Milford were large part of Brisbane’s 2015 success, but the halfback believes they can better this season.

“We were all right in patches last year, but we want to get more consistent and really nail down the plays in our system,” he said on the improvement required this season.

“The more we run the ball and can take the line on the better, it is going to be better for us.”
