A bunch of burly Northerners from the Rugby League heartland of Hull dropped into Redfern Oval to see how the South Sydney Rabbitohs are shaping up ahead of Saturday night’s clash with the Wigan Warriors.
Fresh off their sides 24-10 loss at the hands of Wigan, the lads were more than happy to lend their support to Souths ahead of Saturday’s double header.
“Too right, give ’em a good smashing from us I’m telling ya,” one said.
Sporting the black and white of Hull FC and the odd sunburn to match, the fans were quick to acknowledge the work that club Chief Commercial Officer Shannon Donato did in showing them around Rabbitohs headquarters.
It was time well spent that culminated them in meeting the squad and getting their jerseys signed by the team, including England captain Sam Burgess.
“Back home, we never get to see this side of our own team. We’ve come over to the other side of the world and seen everything. It’s just fantastic,” said the Yorkshireman.
Hull FC and the St. George Illawarra Dragons kick off this weekend’s International Double Header this Saturday at 5.45pm, followed on by South Sydney taking on Wigan at 7.45pm.
