I Put In The Work | Latrell Mitchell

It’s no secret that Latrell Mitchell has been working hard in the pre-season, but after an impressive 80 minutes at Central Coast Stadium last week we can now see that it’s paid off.

Mitchell entered his third pre-season at the back-end of 2017 with the hopes of being bigger and better for his third year playing at the top grade.

His first hit-out last week was memorable, but most importantly he was able to work on some of the important stuff ahead of the new season.

“It was good to play some footy after a big pre-season,” he said of the Central Coast trial.

“To be able to throw some combinations together, have a bit of fun with it and learn what we need to work on was pretty good for me.”

Mitchell was sensational in his first hit-out, a performance that was rewarded with two freakish tries  which he says comes down to putting in the hard work.

“I put in the work in the pre-season.

“The attitude that I brought every day got me to where I am now.”

“It’s a confidence boost for me to be able to take that onto the field and play some footy.”

One of the truly exciting prospects from the Sea Eagles trial was once again seeing the “deadly” left edge of Latrell Mitchell and Daniel Tupou, a combination that’s been out of action since Round 22 last year.

Mitchell is excited to have his wing partner back and knows what he offers the team.

“It’s always good to have Toops there.

“He’s got your back and you know he’s going to finish some good tries.”

Will the Roosters left edge be better in 2018? Latrell would like to think so.

We’ll keep it deadly
