With the South Sydney Rabbitohs still one month away from NRL action, Members and supporters will be able to get their footy fix a little earlier with the junior teams kicking off their campaigns this Saturday 10 February.
ACT-based Members and supporters will be in prime position to go and cheer on the junior sides, as all three grades travel to the nation’s capital for a triple header against the Canberra Raiders the Raiders Club Belconnen in Holt.
The Under 16s side will begin proceedings on Saturday at 12.15pm, followed by the Under 18s kicking-off next at 1.30pm. They will will be looking to make the finals of the SG Ball Cup after missing out last season, and will be looking to do so with a number of talented youngsters making the side.
The Womens Under 18s match will be the last of the day, kicking off at 2.50pm and looking to avenge their loss against the Raiders last year, which knocked them out of the competition.
The side will feature captain Bryanna Murray, the sister of first grade player Cameron, as well as Lavinia Taukamo and Amohia Hiroti, relatives of first grade squad players Tyrone Taukamo and Mawene Hiroti.
All three competitions will run for nine regular season rounds between the February 8 and April 7, with a four-week finals series afterwards.
The Under 18s and Under 16s teams will play for 35 minutes per half, while the Womens Under 18s will have 30 minute halves, with teams playing 9-a-side.
As for the North Sydney Bears Under 20s, information will be available on the Jersey Flegg draw on NSWRL.com.au in the coming weeks.
