This Sunday the Cronulla Sharks host local rivals the St George Illawarra Dragons at Southern Cross Group Stadium, with plenty on offer for families and football fans alike.

With both teams coming off first round losses, each side will be desperate to claim victory in the all-important clash in an effort to get their season’s off to a winning start.

The Derby match will once again see both sides compete for the Monty Porter Memorial Sports Foundation Cup, created in the name of Cronulla’s inaugural skipper Monty Porter.

Porter, who spent a decade at the Red V prior to his time at the Sharks, has a Foundation named in his honour with the Monty Porter Memorial Sports Foundation the game day Community Partner this Sunday.

The Foundation was created to raise funds and support young local athletes who show promise in their chosen field.

This Sunday will also see major changes to regular game day transport, parking and ground access.

The left-hand lane of Captain Cook Drive eastbound will be CLOSED to allow for pedestrian access to the Stadium from the west.

The Club is urging everyone attending Sunday’s match to get to the game early and enjoy the new in-stadium food offerings, activations, inflatables on Family Hill or grab a meal and enjoy the pre-game entertainment in the Leagues Club.

As announced during the week, Southern Cross Group Stadium will offer a host of new and improved food options in 2016. Sunday will sees the inclusion of Howling Forest, Berlin Bangers, Cantina Movil, Cherry Highway, Street Sliders, Pizza Trailer and Cheese Toasties, so be sure to take advantage of these tasty offerings.

The Sharks will welcome back a familiar face this weekend as Glenn Wheeler makes his return to a Sharks match for the first time since his scooter accident late in January, 2015.

Wheeler will address the crowd pre-game and thank Sharks Members and fans for their on-going support throughout what has bene a difficult period for Glenn and his family.

Also on Sunday the Sharks will announce the No.1 Ticket Holder for 2016, Federal Treasurer and Member for Cook, Hon. Scott Morrison, with an on-field presentation to take place involving Chairman Damien Keogh and Group CEO Lyall Gorman.

To round out the day at Southern Cross Group Stadium, a Members-Only function will be held in the Sharks Leagues Club auditorium between 6:30pm-8:30pm, which will include live entertainment, player presentations and a signing session, free sausage sizzle and a jumping castle for the kids.

Around the ground, there will be an Inflatable obstacle course, 6-in-1 castle, Sharks slide, Inflatable Sharks at both entrances, Mermaids and Mascot interaction, Drummers in the Shark Tank, Black, White and Blue flags around the ground and a DJ on arrival.
