They may be the curtain raiser for the Charity Shield but before they hit the field the NSW Koori Under 16s will be putting in the hard yards off the field for a very special occasion.
The NSW Koori Under 16 side will have a unique build-up to their Charity Shield curtain-raiser this weekend. They will be joining Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues coach Brad Fitler and the Hogs For The Homeless crew in re-turfing Wellington’s Kennard Park tomorrow (Thursday, 22 February).
This week’s camp in Mudgee will also see the players undertake a number of cultural classes, training sessions and educational workshops as part of an all-round preparation for NSW to claim consecutive titles after their success in Newcastle last year.
The NSW team, coached by former Parramatta Eels hooker Dennis Moran, will take part in the re-turfing of the town’s Rugby League field as part of their week-long preparation ahead of their annual clash against the Queensland Murri Under-16 side at Mudgee’s Glen Willow Stadium on Saturday night.
The NSW Koori Under-16 v Queensland Murri Under-16 match will kick-off at 6pm on Saturday 24 February at Mudgee’s Glen Willlow Stadium prior to the Charity Shield between South Sydney and St George Illawarra. Click here for the full squad.
