Storm and skipper Cameron Smith have launched the special, one-off jersey Melbourne will wear for the Testimonial on February 23 at Suncorp Stadium.
A Night with Cam & JT will celebrate the careers of two of rugby league’s finest when Storm face rivals North Queensland for the first time since facing off in the 2017 NRL Grand Final.
The predominantly white jersey features the colours of the teams Smith has played in throughout his illustrious career: Logan Brothers, Brisbane Norths, the Queensland Maroons, Australian Kangaroos as well as Storm.
The back of the jersey contains Smith’s incredible list of career statistics inside his trademark number nine. The names of his three children, Jada, Jasper and Matilda and wife Barbara also feature prominently.
Smith’s two chosen charities, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and Ovarian Cancer of Australia are both positioned on the jersey beneath the Melbourne Storm logo.
“These charities are an important part of this match. It’s a great chance to support both OCA and Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia, particularly as both have some significance to my family,” Smith said.
“It is an opportunity to create some more awareness for the three charities (Johnathan Thurston’s is Cowboys House) and raise much needed funds.”
A Night with Cam & JT will be a rare opportunity for fans to celebrate two of the game’s greatest as Johnathan Thurston as he heads into his final NRL season. Be at Suncorp Stadium and purchase your tickets here.
