SAM Tagataese is ready to make the most of the lifeline the Broncos have handed him, starting in Toowoomba on Saturday night.
The 2016 premiership winner with the Sharks and current Samoan international only landed at the Broncos late last year.
But he has one thing a lot of the new recruits at the Broncos don’t have – loads of experience.
With almost 170 NRL games behind him, Tagataese is ready to drain the tank in search of a good season.
His first opportunity is against the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday.
“For me it is about tapping into something I don’t think I have tapped into before- and that is getting the best out of myself,” he said.
“Let’s see what is left in these legs.
“I am going to give it my all and I hope to make it into the 17 during the year.
“Hopefully I can perform well on Saturday, make a statement and go from there.”
Tagataese said he had folded in well into the Broncos’ squad.
“I am definitely happy – the squad has made me feel at home,” he said.
“I have been welcomed in by the staff and I have settled in really well.
“It’s been a tough pre-season, but I am definitely looking forward to the trials this week.”
