Titans name two trial squads

Titans name two trial squads Written by STAFF WRITERS, February 10, 2016

THE Titans have announced their squads for two trial matches this Saturday night against the Eels in Alice Springs and the Warriors in Whangarei.

Coach Neil Henry has named a strong lineup to face the Eels, with recruits Chris McQueen, Ash Taylor, David Shillington, Zeb Taia, Nathan Friend, Nathan Davis and Leivaha Pulu all included.

The Titans have a host of players unavailable through injury and All Stars duties, so a large contingent of Intrust Super Cup and under 20s players will travel across to New Zealand for the Warriors trial match.

“It has obviously tested our numbers with two trials on the same weekend as the All Stars clash and a few guys unavailable with mostly minor injuries,” Henry said.

“But it is also a good opportunity for some players to catch the eye.

“We’ll take a strong squad of 23 to Alice Springs and it is a good opportunity for newcomers to the team to develop some combinations and for the squad to get a solid hit-out before the home trial against Souths a week later.”
